Day before

Today is November the day before Thanksgiving.  Jean and Rosanna are busy getting the table settings ready for the 13 we expect.  It will be a good day.  I have picked up the fresh turkey and others are preparing an assortment of goodies for the feast.
The knee I hurt a month or so ago is still bothering me to some extent so I kept an appointment with my orthopedist this morning and he suggested a cortizone shot to which I agreed.  It may hurt some more but it seems as though it is already "better."  The orthopedist is a young man who's father was a psychology professor at Baylor for 30 years.  He and his family are flying to Waco to visit over Thanksgiving.  We had a good connection for proper treatment of the injury. When I asked whether wrapping the knee with some kind of wrap, he responded that the only thing you get from wrapping is swollen feet and he is not in favor of doing that sort of thing.
We had six inches of snow on our patio table.  It was a somewhat wet snow, so maybe it will help the dry earth, and maybe is of some help to the rivers and streams as they seem to be a bit low. It is also a boon to the ski mountains.  The cold weather at least can help them with the snow making machines.
